We have a new member joining @BCUQI Carolyn Charlton!!!



Carolyn started her career in the Health Sector in 2003 as a Clerical Assistant for the Occupational Health Team providing support for Cheshire County Council and Cheshire Fire Brigade. After a short career break following the birth of her youngest daughter Carolyn commenced her employment with the NHS in 2011 within the Community Mental Health Teams. Carolyn worked as a bank member of staff during 2013 alongside her substantive role which allowed her to gain experience within District Nursing, Cardiology and also as a HCSW on the Wards at the Wrexham Maelor. Carolyn progressed from Community Mental Health Teams to become the PA to the Head of Older Peoples Mental Health Services at the Ablett Unit in 2013. During this time Carolyn developed an interest in quality improvement and was successful in securing a secondment as an Clinical Governance Facilitator within the Primary Care Clinical Governance Team in 2014. She has further progressed within Primary Care to the posts of Dental Contracts Officer then Primary Care Contracts Manager before joining the BCUQI Hub Team in September 2020. During her time in Primary Care Carolyn was given the opportunity to study ILM Levels 3 & 4 and NVQ Level 4 in project management and is currently working towards her degree with a focus on Health Care. Carolyn has a keen interest in Quality and Improvement and patient care and is looking forward to utilising the skills obtained through her recent study to support BCUHB teams in her current role.
